Christmas message

Dia daoibh,

Every Christmas I write in the magazine and I always try to share the joy that we find in the school during these weeks before Christmas. But I have to tell you that, this year, I’m a bit worried. It’s because of the Christmas Elves! There is an elf in Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class and they really seem to be very naughty indeed. Now, Twinkle, in Junior Infants is not the worst although he is a bit spoiled; he even has his own Christmas tree. He has put up a security camera and is watching EVERYTHING! Tinsel in First Class, turned all the words on the Tricky Words Board upside-down – every one of them – and one morning he was swinging on the Christmas decorations. But, the naughtiest of them all is Trixie. I’ve caught him sitting on the data projector – can you imagine! And, he was eating sweets and it wasn’t even Friday.

So, it seems to me that all the boys and girls in these classes will be on Santa’s ‘nice’ list but those elves need to go straight to the naughty list.

And speaking of the ‘nice’ list I hope that every pupil, teacher and all the Mammys and Daddys get a lovely present from Santa this year – I think we all deserve it more than ever.

From the bottom of my heart I wish you all the peace and joy of Christmas. May 2022 bring us all health and happiness.

And, with a bit of luck, when we come back after Christmas, those elves will be gone back to wherever they came from – good riddance!!

Nollaig shona daoibh go léir.
