Visit from the Biodiversity Officer from Leitrim County Council

Today Rebecca the Biodiversity  Officer from Leitrim County Council came to visit us to discuss the actions we took as part of our project on pollination. We looked at our school grounds to see is it attractive to pollinators . We learned that the area at the side of the school has many native plants such as clover and ragged robins that help pollination. The  area at the front of the school which we choose not to cut is helping  to  attract more pollinators to our school grounds. We also learned the importance of not using weed killer and the need to not spray weeds.
