Adam Harris

On Wednesday (October 12th) we welcomed Adam Harris to our school. Adam spoke to us about his experiences as a young man growing up with Autism. He was able to give us a much better understanding of what it feels like to have Autism, the challenges experienced by people with Autism. He also spoke of the special strengths and talents that so many people with Autism have.

Adam spoke to the children and staff from first class to sixth class as well as many visitors who wanted to be with us for such a special occasion. His words had a profound impact on many of us who heard him. He was inspiring and uplifting. He showed us that we must look for the potential in ourselves and in other. It was a joy to listen to him.

Thank you to Ms. Frances who organised Adam’s visit and to all those who helped with transport, teas & coffees etc. Thanks also to our friends in DVS who lent us the equipment we needed for Adam’s presentation.
