June 5

Hello again, everyone,

Here is the email I sent to you earlier:

June 5

Next week is Book Week in the school. We are asking every child to read a book.

I have two main suggestions to make to help you to celebrate Book Week with us:

  1. Visit the library – libraries are meant to reopen next week as part of Phase to of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown. Check out the arrangements by pasting this link into your search engine: https://www.leitrimobserver.ie/news/home/548344/leitrim-library-service-to-re-open-through-contact-and-collect.html
  2. Visit World Book on the Scoilnet website by pasting this link into your search engine: https://www.scoilnet.ie/scoilnet-services/world-book/

Doing either of these two things will open up a world of books to your child. Both are free to use. I really hope that as many children as possible will find the time to read a book this week. On the Scoilnet/World Book website, they can read along with a book, or follow abook being read, even if they can’t read it themselves. The World Book has levels to suit all children at any age or stage. This is an ideal opportunity for them to explore it, if they haven’t done so already. Enjoy!

And, finally, this week, congratulations to Emily and Kaiden McGovern, both of who were winners in the Drumshanbo Credit Union Rainbow competition.

Well done to Kaiden and Emily. If you’re in town you should have a look in the window if the Credit Union. You’ll see Emily and Kaiden’s pictures as well as lots of other entries and winning pictures. Congratulations to all who took part.
