June 12th

Hello everyone,

Here is the email I sent out earlier today:

June 12

Remember that next week is Active School Week. As part of that, why don’t you get your children to take part in an initiative being organised by the Tony McGowan Run Committee. Here are the details:

The Tony Mc Gowan Run Committee based in Drumshanbo in association with An Garda Síochana Leitrim Community Engagement Unit have come up with a simple initiative to continue to keep children active during June and early July. The idea is for children and their siblings up to 18 years of age to register with us and  “Complete 5k In Your Own Way”. The activity is their own choice – walk, jog, run, dance, cycle, swim etc. Children can do 1k a day for five days or complete 5k all at once. While participating in their chosen activity, children should be extra mindful of road and water safety rules. On completion, the children will receive a medal from the Tony Mc Gowan Run Committee personally delivered by one of the Co Leitrim Community Gardaí.

To participate and to be guaranteed a medal (as stocks are limited), parents should email the child/children’s name, address and most importantly their eircode, and their chosen activity to tonymcgowanrun2020@gmail.com by Sunday 21st June. Participants are welcome to email photos on completion but it is optional and must be done so with parental consent.

Thank you for supporting this initiative and good luck!

Unfortunately the news from Ms. Reynolds this week is that Morris, the magpie, was killed. I think Nanuk, Ms. Reynolds’ dog, was involved. Never a dull moment at Ms Reynolds’! So now, they are trying to look after Doris, who is learning to fly.

Finally, I leaving you with some picture of the school this week, where great progress is being made:
