Here are some photos of Engineers Week in Junior Infants. We carried out an experiment called ‘Blasting Balloons’. After experimenting between hitting the balloon both gently and then very hard, we found that the balloon could go in any direction when hit very hard, it was unpredictable but by hitting the balloon gently it generally went in the direction we had intended! Our aim was to hit the balloon as far as we could using our hands. Those who hit the balloon gentler did better!
Then we all had a STEM box with a picture for guidance. We built a variety of objects such as robots, a windmill, a house, a garden, a car, a school etc. Have a look at the photos…
