March 2023

This month we learned about ‘The Garden Centre’ and also read lots of  Fairy Tales like Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzal, Peter and the Wolf and lots more.

We also had Lá Glas and we all dressed in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and we had a Ceilí Mór.  Here are some photos of Lá Glas…

For Aistear time, we set up the role play area where we sold flowers and packets of seeds and looked after plants.  A frequent visitor to our Garden Centre was Buzzy Bee!

When we were playing with PlayDoh we made flowers and items we might use in the garden like a spade, wheelbarrow, a hose or a watering can.

One of the stories we read this month was ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.  We printed caterpillars, mixing blue and yellow to create our own green!  We also mixed colours to make shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day.

In the Construction area we designed and constructed our Garden Centre buildings.  One group created a special area in the Garden Centre for children only.  They built an area for jumping and put soft cotton wool in the area for safe landings!
