Happy Holidays!

I want to wish all the pupils and staff of our school a very happy and enjoyable summer holiday.

There are lots of events and activities to get involved in here in the town over the summer, beginning with the Tóstal this weekend (opening on Sunday, July 2nd at 5pm). The Irish Water Safety is on at the pool next weekend, registration in  the school on Saturday (July 1st). Then Cúl Camps begin on the week commencing July 10th – remember you need to have made an online application in advance. Don’t forget to register for the Summer Star Reading Incentive which runs throughout the summer in our local library. It’s a great way to get children reading.

We are saying goodbye to Mr. Flynn and Ms. Beirne, both of whom have been offered permanent jobs beginning in September. We want to thank them, congratulate them and wish them the very best as they begin the next part of their careers.

We are saying a temporary goodbye to Ms. Keegan, Mrs. A. Kelly and Mr. Keane who are taking career breaks from next September. We also want to wish Mrs. McCabe the very best as she will beginning her maternity leave in September. But it will be nice to welcome back Mrs. McGoldrick who is returning next term.

We are sad to say good bye to Grace H., Jessica, Aoibhe, Katie, Grace C., Abigail, Hassie, Hannah Mc, Hannah M., Dean, Karl, Turlough, Jared, Kian, Adam, Brogan, Ciarán, Hassan, Kuba, Barta and Igor from Sixth Class as well as Benjamin, Bianca and Jet from other classes. Sixth Class have set a great example throughout the year in the way they have behaved, worked and supported all that happens in the school. We wish them success and happiness as they move into secondary school.

Best wishes and thank you all for your interest and support throughout this school year. Special thanks to Zona, Mary, John, Brigid, Fran, Martin, Annette and Seán – our wonderful Parents’ Association Committee who are so supportive in every way possible. We really appreciate the generous and gracious way in which you give of your time to make our school a better place. Go raibh míle maith agaibh.
