A Busy Term

This term has been very busy and during it I’ve written many, many lists, so I thought that this time, for the blog, I’d write another list. Actually I’m going to write two lists – a list of all the things that have happened this term and a list of all the things that still have to happen. So, here goes;

Since Christmas we’ve taught Irish, English, Maths, History, Geography, Science, Art, Music, Drama, PE & SPHE and we’ve had

  • Confirmation
  • First Confession
  • Cumman na mBunscol matches
  • Leitrim Athletics competition
  • WSE
  • Soccer competitions
  • Ag Súgradh le Chéile
  • Gymnastics
  • Chess competitions
  • A visit from the Minister for Education
  • Our Locality theme for February with visits from local historians and from Heritage

Can I congratulate the boys and girls in Sixth Class on their lovely Confirmation ceremony? It was a privilege to be part of it.  Well done also to Second Class on making their First Confession. They read, prayed and sang so beautifully. Thank you to Mrs. Loughlin and Ms. Reynolds for preparing the children for the sacraments. All the hard work and preparation was evident in both ceremonies.

And over the next week we will have

  • The Zany Zoo (3rd class play)
  • A Sunflower in my Supper (1st class play)
  • Tattybogle (Senior Infants play)
  • Penitential Service
  • National Children’s Choir in the Cathedral
  • More Cumann na mBunscol
  • Assembly and raffle
  • Holidays!

I know I’ve forgotten lots of things from my list but that’s okay. The point is that  are busy but we are trying to fit everything in as best we can. We’ve worked hard this term and had lots of fun along the way. I’d say the list for next term might be even longer! Happy Easter everyone.
